The 2006-2007 NHL Season featured the second annual Pink Stick Auctions. TPS Hockey and NHL players teamed up to pay tribute to hockey moms and moms in all levels of the game by using specially designed pink hockey sticks in support of breast cancer research. Each stick was individually autographed and used in practice, warm-up or actual game play. The goal was to raise awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer, with all proceeds benefiting breast cancer research.
This specially designed pink Sherwood SOP 9950 was used by Jason Spezza on March 17, 2007 during the pregame warm-up. The game featured the Philadelphia Flyers vs. the Ottawa Senators. A date stamp was added to the shaft of the stick after it was used. The stick is fully taped. Spezza autographed the stick on the blade. The stick was originally obtained from the Pink Stick Auctions hosted by Auctionwire. The stick came with a certificate of authenticity from Auctionwire.
